Vilas County Wisconsin North Woods Fishing Report for July 6th

 

Largemouth Bass

Fishing for bass has been very consistent with the stable weather.  Best lure choices are spinnerbaits, Swimjigs, Senkos, and Tubes. Most of the bass are averaging around 14-16" with lots of smaller bass being caught. We did managet to find some bigger bass while using drop shot in about 10-20 ' of water along weed edges.  with

 

Northern Pike

Several Pike are beeing had on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits along the deeper weed edges.

 

Musky

Location is key right now.. deeper weed edges or night time fishing has een best.

 

Smallmouth Bass

Have been plentifull and find lots fun. Spinnerbaits and tubes are your best choices. Rocks in the 6-10 foot depths have been the best choices.

 

Walleyes are also being caught along steep drop offs with nice weedlines using jigs and night crawlers or slip bobber with leeches.  Some lakes around St Germain  and Sayner have been producing better.
