Lake Winnebago Report for May 8thth
The State-wide Fishing opener is this weekend, but the winnebago system has been providing some very good action. Panfish can be caught up the channels found on Winnebago using a simple worm and bobber or minnow. White and walleye are being caught in the Fox and Wolf River.. The boat traffic has been crazy with hundreds of boats but the bite has been very good .
Lake Winnebago Report for July 20th
Well its another tought week but I did notice that the fishing is starting to get a little better. While out practicing for a tournament. We managed to catch several Largemouth Bass, a few smallies, whitebass and some Walleye's. All the fish came from less then 6' of water.
Fox River (Omro) Report for July 6th
Took a trip out on the Fox River the other day.
The fishing was actually better then I was expecting. It started out kinda slow with some smaller size smallmouth bass, but the I found the bigger fish. 16" was the smallest that I caught after I put a pattern together. Most of the smallmouth bass came on either shallow running crankbaits, spinnerbaits or swim jigs.
Lake Winnebago Report for week June 27th
Largemouth Bass
Fishing for bass has been tough this week, but we have still been able to bring in limits of both largemouth and smallmouth bass. Best lure choices are spinnerbaits, Swimjigs, Senkos, and Tubes. Most of the bass are averaging around 14-16" with lots of smaller bass being caught with
Northern Pike
Several Pike are beeing had on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.
White Bass
Lots of schools of white bass have been around the mouth of the Fox River in Oshkosh near the train bridge area.
Lake Poygan and Wolf River Report for week June 27th
Northern Pike bite was slow today. We tried several weedy bays with not much success. The sky was bright and not a cloud in the sky.
Smallmouth Bass have been smaller in size but you can find lots of them in the wolf river along the many rock ledges with a little bit of current break.. Spinnerbaits and tubes are your best choices.
